The best MW2 guns still wreck a lobby if you play their range. They will not beat FG42 on a 60-meter roof. M4, Vaznev-9K, and Kastov-74u are the ones worth keeping built.
What still works from MW2
MW2 weapons are still in Warzone. Pick rate is low. Recoil is familiar. That is the whole pitch.
Use them for camos, muscle memory, and pubs. Swap to current best Warzone loadouts when the lobby is Ranked.
The gun people search is the M4. That is the right search. It is the MW2 rifle with no big hole in the kit.
Best M4 loadout MW2
The best M4 loadout MW2 players still copy is a range kit. Hightower 20-inch barrel. Echoless-80 or Harbinger muzzle. 60-round mag. A foregrip for recoil. A clean optic.
That class extends damage range and velocity so the M4 can hold mid-to-long Warzone lanes. Base 30-round mags die in a squad fight. Use 60.
ADS gets slower with the long barrel. That is the trade. Pair the M4 with a fast SMG, not a sniper, unless you already snap.
In MW2 6v6, you can drop the 60-round mag for handling. In Warzone, keep the mag.
Vaznev-9K, Kastov-74u, and TAQ-56
Vaznev-9K
Vaznev-9K was the MW2 close-range staple. It still clears rooms if you stay tight. It is not CBRS-3. Use it while you level. Fight with a Season 5 SMG when it matters.
Kastov-74u
Kastov-74u moves like an SMG and hits like an AR up close. It was a problem gun in MW2. In 2026 Warzone it is a fun rusher, not the meta.
TAQ-56
TAQ-56 is the other MW2 AR people kept. Stable. Honest. Same story as the M4: fine until a BO7 rifle out-ranges you.
Fennec 45 is the MW2 hipfire panic SMG. Lachmann Sub is the other close option. MCPR-300 is the old long sniper if you still like that bolt.
Using old guns without donating the fight
An M4 loses if you take a 70-meter beam vs FG42. ESP shows when the fight is actually in M4 range. Loot ESP keeps plates on you while you play slower. Aim smooth helps the long-barrel ADS. See Features.
Players running warzone cheats on nostalgia classes still get a better result on current rifles. Keep the M4 built. Queue the FG42 when you want the win.

Is the M4 still good in Warzone?
It is usable. It is not the Season 5 AR. Build the 60-round range kit and stay in mid-range. Swap to FG42 for Ranked BR.
What is the best M4 loadout for MW2 multiplayer?
Shorter barrel, faster ADS, smaller mag is fine in 6v6. Warzone wants the Hightower barrel and 60 rounds. Do not copy a 6v6 class into BR.
Should I grind MW2 camos in Warzone?
You can. It is slower than MW2 pubs. If you only play Warzone, finish camos in Resurgence, then switch back to a meta pair.
Vaznev or Fennec for close range?
Vaznev if you ADS. Fennec if you hipfire in doorways. Neither beats CBRS-3 or VST in Season 5.
Are MW2 guns leaving the game?
