The best AR in Warzone right now is the FG42. Season 5 made it the easy long-range laser. MXR-17 still eats pick rate in pro classes. You only need one rifle that stays on target past 40 meters.
What a Warzone AR has to do

FG42 — current best AR
FG42 is the new Season 5 rifle. High pick rate. Easy recoil. It lives on page 3 of the free Battle Pass in Black Ops 7, then carries into Warzone.
A strong long-range build: VAS 8mm suppressor, 16-inch Bandolier barrel, FANG Hoverpoint Elo, MFS Ambilateral stock, Debase extended mag. That kit adds range, velocity, and a 60-round dump.
The Ambilateral stock is a prestige part. Level the gun first. Pull down on the vertical kick. Horizontal bounce is the part that used to miss.
Pair FG42 with VST or REV-46. Both SMGs got Season 5 buffs and cover the rooms the rifle cannot.
MXR-17, DS20 Mirage, and AK-27
MXR-17
MXR-17 is still the pro long-range pick. Harder than FG42. Higher damage at range if you can track. Build suppressor, a long barrel, a clean optic, and a drum mag.
DS20 Mirage
DS20 Mirage is the easy-recoil AR if FG42 is not unlocked yet. It beams. It forgives. Use it in full BR when you want a stable hold.
AK-27
AK-27 ate a nerf this season. It is not the default anymore. It still hits if you like the AK pattern. Do not force it if FG42 already feels better.
MK35 ISR and Voyak KT-3 sit in A-tier. Fine if you already have them built. Not worth a fresh grind over FG42.
Holding the angle you already won
A laser AR still loses if you peak a stacked roof. ESP shows who is holding the next building before you swing. Aim FOV and a humanizer curve keep the FG42 on a sliding target. Full toggles sit on Features.
That is why players who run warzone cheats still grind this rifle. The overlay does not replace bullet velocity. It makes a meta AR cleaner to keep on target.

Is FG42 better than MXR-17?
For most players, yes. FG42 is easier to track. MXR-17 still shows up in pro long-range classes. If recoil fights you, take FG42. If you already beam with MXR-17, keep it.
What optic should I use?
A clean red dot. FANG Hoverpoint Elo is the current default on meta ARs. Skip a 4x unless you only hold 80-meter lanes.
Do I need the prestige stock on FG42?
It helps. The Ambilateral stock is the fire-rate and horizontal-recoil piece. Until you unlock it, run a standard recoil stock and a long barrel.
Which AR for Resurgence?
FG42 or VX Compact. Resurgence maps are tighter. You still want range, just not a heavy drum if it kills your sprint-to-fire.
Where is the 6v6 version of these rifles?
The BO7 best guns list covers multiplayer. Warzone wants more mag size and more bullet velocity than a 6v6 class.
